I hadn’t checked my email since the morning; I checked it early this evening and POW! An email from Breyer had just come through minutes earlier. It’s the good old G1 Draft reveal, and a glossy to boot. He sports a black and white tobiano coat:
Bouncy bouncy bouncy bounce! I *love* this mold. I remember in the late 1970s wanting to go to the local hardware store whenever my dad went so I could get a Stablemate. Yes, some hardware stores did carry Breyers, usually Stablemates. In fact, I got the Misty, Stormy, and Seastar set from Ace Hardware for Christmas one year. That set was mainly sold through JC Penney, but somehow it ended up at the hardware store (I did live in Chicago, so hmmm…). The set was advertised in the Ace flyer, and I spotted it. I may actually still have the advertisement as I had a habit of ripping the Breyer pages out of various department store Christmas catalogs to keep. Anyway, back to the Stablemates. I would always hope that the draft, saddlebred, Arabian Stallion, or Citation would be there as those were my favorites, and if not I would get any Stablemate because, well, Stablemates. New little horses would be chosen even if the ones at home weren’t destroyed yet (they were played with a lot on city sidewalks). One can never have too many Stablemates, you know. Here’s another photo of Jameson:
Okay, we now have two silhouettes left, even though Breyer is showing three. One of the silhouettes is of the G1 Draft, and I don’t think Jameson is the Gambler’s Choice…buuuuuuut, maybe he will be available in matte as well, as Atticus was for 2021? We still have the Fjord and the G5 Cantering Morgan mold yet to be revealed. Here is the silhouette picture showing both Jameson and a G1 Draft silhouette:
*Photos of Jameson and 2022 Stablemate Club offerings are from Breyer’s email, Twitter, and website.*
