Finally!!! We’d all been anxiously waiting for this news, so plunging right in for a recap:
Maelstrom, the 2022 Halloween Horse (#1864):
Maelstrom without his spooky background:
Definitely a must have for me. Love the little backstory he has, along with his unsettling greenish-gold lost treasure coat with the ship and pirates concealed within. Very much impressed this this ghostly guy!
The Phantom and Misty (#1863):
The Phantom and Misty sans background:
At last, the Phantom is being given long overdue recognition. I am surprised it took Breyer so long to make a model of her; it’s about darn time! A tidbit about the Phantom’s coat color: the real Phantom was indeed a smoky black, although she is described in the book Misty of Chincoteague as being a chestnut.
Morgan Mayhem! Collectors are being treated to two new models on the Troubadour/Morgan mold for 2022. First up is the previously seen MorganQuest Native Sun (#1856):
The second Troubadour/Morgan is the 2022 Christmas Horse, named Snowbird (#700125). He is grey, kinda sorta like this year’s Arctic Grandeur. Not precisely of course, but a pretty grey nonetheless:
Another photo of him without the background. Must say, those feathers are fabulous!
Prepare room on your widest shelf for this beauty! Adamek (#1861) is an Akhal-Teke on the Altynai/Akhal-Teke mold. I was hoping for him to make an appearance as the roached mane version, but he’s still handsome with his mane, and he’s such a pretty color:
Moonless nights would easily hide this dark knight. Sjoerd (#1859) is a Friesian stallion on the Laredo/Gypsy Vanner mold (which is the non-floofy feet version). His owner chose this not-very-Friesian-mold as Sjoerd has had his feathers shaved for various reasons, and felt this mold was the best representation of Sjoerd:
From the dark of night to the golden glow of a sun saturated day, a palomino (#1836) joins the Ideal Series. This palomino is third in the series inspired by the art of Orren Mixer:
Make way! Mare and foal set coming through! The Rhian and Cadell molds have been put into production as Nistar Blazing Kansas LOM and GTF Blazing Ethel (#1857). This is the first time they are being offered as regular runs (Ethel is the momma, Kansas is the foal):
I’m sure there will be a lot of love for Romeo, the 2022 Flagship Horse (#760249). Romeo is on the Dundee/Australian Stock Horse mold in silver bay:
For the 2022 Classics/Freedom Series, we’ve already seen the tie-dye Keep the Peace (#62067) on the Fairfax mold, but here he is again:
Ornaments for your 2022 tree (or to just have hanging around). Let’s start off with Tyrian, who is a blue/purple unicorn on a miniaturized Ashquar! Another must have for me:
Santa has ditched the reindeer for a buckskin Bobbie Jo. Take a gander at the snazzy gold leg wraps:
Spinning around to our next ornament is Rosalie, the carousel horse:
Oh ho ho, one more for you—the 2022 Beautiful Breeds ornament is a stunning bay Arabian:
2022 has many exciting new additions, and there’s so much more for 2022 (mid-years, Breyerfest models, Web Specials, etc.). I have a feeling the upcoming year will not disappoint…
A special thank you and a huge hug goes out to Eleda from Triple Mountain Model Horses for granting permission to use photos from her site.
