Breyer 2022 Vintage Club and The 2021 Stablemate Club’s Fifth Release

Tuesday Breyer sent out an email that membership renewals for the 2022 VC are now open. The big news is that Breyer has increased the number of memberships from 500 to 750. The renewal deadline for current VC members is October 11th. Starting on the 12th, the 250 new memberships plus any memberships not renewed by current VC members will be open to all members of the Collectors Club. It’s going to be interesting to see how quickly the VC sells out with the additional memberships, and if Breyer is going to cap the number of memberships per household as they did last year. Breyer hasn’t shown the entire 2022 VC lineup, but there is an outline of Smoky, so presumably he will be in the lineup. The email also claims that Breyer will have surprises for the club this year since it is the VC’s ten year anniversary, so we’ll have to wait and see. The only model we’ve been shown is Cooper, a black and white Appaloosa on the APH (Appaloosa Performance Horse) mold. He also comes with a bridle and a bareback pad, a nod to a 1980s run which included a sorrel blanket APH, bridle, bareback pad, and a Brenda Breyer doll…what if one of these ‘surprises’ for the VC is a Brenda Breyer doll? Hahahahaha! Here is the original set, which was produced from 1980-1985:

Here is a full shot of Cooper, and notice the Smoky outline in the upper left corner:

It’s kind of funny that Breyer is using the bareback pad as they are on my ‘to make’ list, as are blankets.  They’ll probably stay on that list for the next 7,000 years, but oh well. Someday I shall do it!

Onto the Dahlias!

These are from my yard:

These are from Breyer:

Dahlia, the fifth release of the Stablemates Club, is now available for purchase. She is on the mini-me Croi SM, and is the Gambler’s Choice mold for the club this year. Here are the four Dahlia color options:

The colors as described by Breyer:

-shaded dapple red chestnut splash pinto (matte finish)
-shaded black pintaloosa (high gloss finish)
-shaded amber champagne (matte finish)
-shaded ocean blues (high gloss finish)

I like them all, so I don’t really care which colors I get. I ordered one yesterday so I wouldn’t forget about it, and am holding off ordering the second one in the event Breyer releases something between now and the deadline (October 20th). I don’t think we’ll be seeing Astrid or the next VC release anytime soon, but just in case I’ll wait.
